Cultural Days at the Osaka World Expo

President Attila Turi and Director Kornél Almássy also gave a presentation at the expo

The Hungarian Cultural Thematic Days program series was held between 28 and 30 April 2025, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and Innovation and the Ministry of Construction and Transport in the Hungarian pavilion of the Osaka World Expo. On the thematic day entitled Hungarian Architecture and Heritage, Attila Turi, President of HAA gave a presentation on the activities of HAA as a public body.
The aim of the three-day event series was to provide visitors with an insight into Hungary's rich cultural heritage and the characteristics of contemporary Hungarian cultural life, which is nourished by traditions.
The series of events was organized around some outstanding areas of Hungarian culture of significant global interest, such as architecture, contemporary design, folk culture and tradition, and music culture. The series of events brought these areas closer to the international audience through, among other things, professional lectures, workshops, and cultural presentations. During the three days world-famous Japanese invited speakers were also guests of the Hungarian pavilion, such as architect Fujimoto Sou, founder of Sou Fujimoto Architects, and Sejima Kazuyo and Nishizawa Ryue, heads of the Japanese architectural firm SANAA.
On 28 April in the afternoon session of the B2B conference room in the block entitled Hungarian Architecture and Heritage the attendees could hear, among others, a presentation by Attila Turi, President of HAA about the activities of the public body in English with Japanese subtitles. Afterwards Kornél Almássy, Director of the Hungarian Architectural Museum and Monument Protection Documentation Center (MÉM MDK) presented the new Hungarian Architectural Center and Museum, which is about to be built.
