Nation Award Committee consisting of eleven artists with the Kossuth State Awards. The award is given to provide appropriate living conditions for personalities with high artistic accomplishment and reputation.
György Cziffra Memorial Year
In 2021 the Hungarian and international music scene is to pay tribute to the memory of the world-famous pianist György Cziffra with the Cziffra100 program series. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the artist, the period from February 2021 to May 2022 has been declared the György Cziffra Memorial Year by the Hungarian government, and it was added it to the list of annually celebrated anniversaries by UNESCO. The memorial year is to open with the Cziffra Festival in February with its concerts in Budapest, after which the programs are to continue throughout the year in 13 rural cities, 15 countries with a total of more than 100 events.
Exhibition of HAA in Strasbourg
The unique and large-scale fine art exhibition of HAA – which first opened on 5 July 2019 with the title Verstrichene Zeit – Elapsing Time in the Museum of Modern Arts in Passau (Museum Moderner Kunst), then travelled to Stuttgart in October 2019 and to Berlin in December 2019 as well as to Rome this autumn – can now be seen in Strasbourg from 19 October. The display can be seen until 9 November in the museum of Lieu d'Europe.
Memorial Year of György Harag
The Memorial Year of György Harag organized by HAA has started on 1 October in Gyula with a life work exhibition of the famous director. György Harag was an outstanding Hungarian director and actor from Transylvania, who died in 1985 aged 60 leaving a great legacy behind in theatrical art. The start of the Memorial Year had to be postponed because of the epidemic situation. The widow of György Harag, Ilona Harag is the main patron of the Memorial Year and the main supporter of the inheritance of György Harag.
Discussion series about Italian-Hungarian cultural relations
In 2020 the Art Theory Section of HAA is going to continue its series of podium talks, the Tuesday Kaleidoscope, which has been going for the fifth year now. This time the discussions are to be about the Italian-Hungarian cultural relations. The evenings can also be viewed in retrospect on the website of HAA thanks to video recording. The common title of the podium talks: Weaving threads between nations - the present of Italian-Hungarian cultural relations. In the spring, three of these were cancelled due to the epidemic situation and the postponed discussions are to be held on 13 October 3 November and 1 December.
