Dum spiro, spero
While Rome is burning with the fever of the papal election, the Hungarian Academy in Rome awaited its guests with a sacred exhibition and concert on 5 May 2025 to join the programs of the Eternal City celebrating the jubilee of hope. The event was hosted by the imposing grand staircase of the Falconieri Palace, where Krisztina Lantos, director of the Collegium Hungaricum in Rome greeted the attendees. The opening speech of the exhibition was given by Attila Turi, President of HAA.

Franco Nero at Vigadó
A press conference was held at centre of HAA on 19 May 2025 on the occasion of Franco Nero's stay in Hungary. During his more than sixty-year career the artist appeared in 235 cinema or television productions, including Hungarian films such as Honfoglás, Sacra Corona or Julianus. Pál Oberfrank, director of the Veszprém Petőfi Theatre, said that the actor, who has a famously good relationship with our country, was invited back to our country out of respect for him.

Exhibitions at the Hungarian House in London
The oeuvre of composer Mátyás Seiber, royal coins and the ceramics of Márta Jakobovits
In early May three exhibitions opened at the Hungarian House in London, organized by the Liszt Institute. The fourth-floor gallery is featuring the exhibition entitled Only Silence by Márta Jakobovits, a Transylvanian ceramic artist and regular member of HAA. Some of the pieces from the exhibition were on display in recent months in Bucharest, in Sepsiszentgyörgy, in the Elizabeth Xi Bauer gallery in London as well as at the oeuvre exhibition of the academician Márta Jakobovits, who turns eighty this year, at the Körös Museum in Oradea.

3rd National Salon of Fine Arts 2025 at Műcsarnok
The exhibition, which can be seen between 23 May and 28 September, the third time in the series of Műcsarnok's annual National Salons, is presenting the most important efforts and works of Hungarian fine art from home and abroad over the past five years. The works of the artists invited by the curators – painter József Baksai, a regular member of HAA, and painter György Verebes, a regular member of HAA – are presented according to themes organized along keywords, which serve as a guiding thread to help interpret the exhibition and to systematically see the works of outstanding figures of Hungarian fine art that belong to the responsible emotional/thoughtful range.

Cultural Days at the Osaka World Expo

The Hungarian Cultural Thematic Days program series was held between 28 and 30 April 2025, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and Innovation and the Ministry of Construction and Transport in the Hungarian pavilion of the Osaka World Expo. On the thematic day entitled Hungarian Architecture and Heritage, Attila Turi, President of HAA gave a presentation on the activities of HAA as a public body.
