Images of Light II. | 2nd National Salon of Photography 2021

The annual national salon, devoted to a different branch of art each year, is the celebration of an entire profession at the Műcsarnok. When organising the 2nd National Salon of Photography, it was our express aim, in the spirit of solidarity, to reach out to and call upon every artist who made significant works in any area of photographic art in the last five years to participate in the exhibition.

Birthday concert for Erzsébet Szőnyi

For the ninetieth birthday of composer Erzsébet Szőnyi a special concert is going to be given with a programme consisting of her compositions at the Vigadó Concert Hall on 18 May 2014. The concert, which has been organized by the Section of Music of MMA, is going to start at 19.30.
Participants are the following: Erzsébet Szőnyi (narrator), Andrea Meláth, Lóránt Najbauer (singers), Márta Nagy (pianist), Andrea Kocsis (harpist), Péter Tfirst, Géza Hargitai (violinists), Mihály Várnagy (violist), Mihály Simkó-Várnagy (cellist), the BHKZ Academy, conductor: Géza Gémesi.

István Várdai's violincello concert at the Vigadó

Internationally acclaimed Hungarian cellist, István Várdai is going to perform at the Vigadó Concert Hall on 13 May 2014 with the participation of Walter Delahunt on the piano. The CD's on which the concert repertoire has been recorded can be bought at the venue and the artists are going to give their autographs on them. The concert, which has been organized by the Section of Music of MMA, is going to start at 19.30.

Material revives

Lifework exhibition of Imre Schrammel at Vigadó

An exhibition of the oeuvre of ceramic artist Imre Schrammel opened on 28 March in the renewed and expanded Vigadó Gallery and can be seen until 29 June.

MMA concert at Vigadó

MMA is holding a concert entitled Hungarian Images at the newly opened Vigadó on 23 March from the works of Ferenc Liszt, Béla Bartók, Zoltán Kodály, László Dubrovay and the recently died Sándor Szokolay. The concert, which has been proposed by the Section of Music at MMA, is part of the Budapest Spring Festival.
