New Artists of the Nation in 2020

The assignment of the Artist of the Nation Awards is decided upon by the Artist of the
Nation Award Committee consisting of eleven artists with the Kossuth State Awards. The award is given to provide appropriate living conditions for personalities with high artistic accomplishment and reputation.

Separately, but together

The works of the award winners chosen by the HAA's Fine Arts Section in 2016-2017 can be seen until 22 July 2018 on the lower level of Vigadó Gallery. 
Five artists were given artistic scholarships during this period by the Section of Fine Arts of HAA: painter György Olajos (born in 1953), graphic artist Gabriella Sulyok (born in 1939), sculptor Judit Rita Rabóczky (born in 1979), painter Ágnes Verebics (born in 1982) and painter-sculptor Károly Kelemen (born in 1948).

Zugló Philharmonic in Slovenia

Between 7 and 10 April 2018 the Zugló Philharmonic King Saint Stephen Symphony Orchestra had a concert tour in Slovenia in return for the visit of the Youth Symphony Orchestra NOVA Philharmonic in September 2017. As the first step of the cooperation in last May the Slovenian conductor, Simon Perčič conducted a concert at the Zugló Music House with the participation of the young trumpeter, Gregor Rogelja, and after that the Slovenian orchestra gave performances at Müpa in Budapest as well as in Békéscsaba.

Tibor Szervátiusz passed away

One of the greatest Hungarian sculptors, Tibor Szervátiusz, an Artist of the Nation, member of HAA and son of another outstanding Hungarian sculptor, Jenő Szervátiusz died on 25 April 2018 in his 88th years of age.

Hungarian textile art in Poland

With the title 50 Years – 50 Artworks a large-scale textile art exhibition opened on 10 May 2018 in Lodz, Poland, at KOBRO Gallery of the University of Fine and Applied arts. The curators are textile artist Kelecsényi Csilla, member of HAA and art historian Cebula Anna, director of Szombathely Art Gallery. They selected the displayed works from the collection of the gallery. The exhibition, which was made possible and supported by HAA, was organized by architect and interior designer Somogyi Pál, member of MMA.
