Vigadó and Kunsthalle reopened

After a period of three months of involuntary closure and with special regard to health safety precautions Vigadó, the centre of HAA has been reopened from 24 June 2020. In the past period the building itself and its exhibitions could only be visited in the form of online virtual walks. But from the day of the reopening the building and its exhibitions are again accessible to the general public.

Les Indes galantes

With Les Indes galantes by Jean-Philippe Rameau, president of HAA, György Vashegyi – along with his Orfeo Orchestra and Purcell Choir – makes a further dazzling addition to their Glossa series of French dramatic masterpieces from the Baroque, and in the company of a luxurious line-up of vocal soloists. The ballet héroïque recorded at the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall of Müpa Budapest, Hungary, on 25–27 February 2018.

Exhibition of David Lynch at Műcsarnok

The photographs of the world-famous American independent movie director, screenwriter, painter and musician, David Lynch can be seen at Műcsarnok (Kunsthalle), the institution of HAA as the opening exhibition of the Budapest Photo Festival (BPF), the biggest photography event in Hungary held for the third time in 2019. During the time of the exhibition (1 March – 2 June) there are a number of exclusive programs and guided tours by well-known experts all organized by Műcsarnok.

Hungarian director at Kosice State Theatre

Hungarian director and regular member of HAA's Section of Theatric Arts, Viktor Nagy has directed the performance of Giuseppe Verdi's four-act opera, Otello based upon Shakespeare's play at the Kosice State Theatre. The premiere took place on 22 February 2019 and on the invitation of Karol Kevický, the director of the Kosice State Theatre President of HAA, György Vashegyi and Secretary-General of HAA, Tamás Gergely Kucsera visited the town. The production work has been made possible by means of a Slovak and Hungarian cooperation. The costume designer has been Erzsébet Rátkai, a regular member of HAA.

Exhibition of Imre Makovecz in Kazan

The lifework exhibition of Imre Makovecz entitled Connecting Earth and Sky arrived at its final station of Kazan Kremlin, the chief historic citadel of Tatarstan and can be seen until 10 March. The travelling exhibition arrived after several stations in Russian, including Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk and Yekaterinburg. The travelling exhibition has been received with great interest from the part of both the public and the architectural profession.
