Never realised buildings in Budapest

On the occasion of Budapest's 150th birthday a large-scale exhibition at Vigadó, the centre of HAA with the title "Never Realised Buildings in Budapest" is offering an intriguing perspective of what the Hungarian capital might have looked like in the period of the past 150 years if history took another course with the help of over 170 thought-provoking plans, maquettes, photos and videos.

Latest events of the Áron Tamási Year

On 26 September a commemorative meeting was held in Hungarikum Liget in Lakitelek on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the birth of Áron Tamási, one of the great writers of Transylvania, organized by HAA and the Folk High School Foundation.

HAA held its second general assembly

The public body awards were presented and the general assembly also decided on the establishing of regional working groups. HAA held its second general assembly this year at the centre of the public body, in Vigadó on 12 October.

Jubilee exhibition of leather designer and applied artist Imre Molnár

The 80-year-old Imre Molnár, who is a corresponding member of HHA, is presenting his oeuvre at the latest exhibition of the Vigadó Gallery. Imre Molnár's works are diverse, they represent all areas of leatherwork, all types of objects, both useful and ornamental objects come out of his workshop. The exhibition, which was opened by art historian Hilda Horváth after a welcome speech from György Vashegyi, the President of HAA on 6 September, can be viewed until 13 November 2022.

Exhibition of Marcell Jankovics in Warsaw

Marcell Jankovics (1941-2021) was a Hungarian film director, graphic artist, book illustrator, cultural historian, one of the most outstanding artists of Hungarian animation films. He was an Artist of the Nation as well as a regular member, former Vice-President and honorary President of HAA. In Poland he became known through his animation series entitled Gusztáv, which was broadcast on television in the 1980s and 1990s. Thanks to this exhibition, which can be seen until 30 October at the Liszt Institute in Warsaw, the artist's oeuvre is widely presented to the Polish public for the first time.
