Imre Benkő's subjective documentarism

The exhibition entitled True Visions in Műcsarnok (Kunsthalle), the institution of HAA is presenting six decades of art work of photographer, photojournalist and regular member of HAA, Imre Benkő through two hundred and fifty, mostly black-and-white photographs. The exhibition, curated by Zsuzsanna Tulipán, can be viewed between 23 February and 7 April.

National Museum paying tribute to Imre Makovecz

The Hungarian National Museum commemorates the 10th anniversary of the death of Imre Makovecz, the greatest figure in Hungarian organic architecture with a fence exhibition of photos. At the open-air exhibition entitled Architecture between Heaven and Earth - Imre Makovecz 1935-2011 pedestrians can meet almost 50 billboards on the Museum Boulevard. On the fence of the Museum Garden not only the most significant buildings of Imre Makovecz can be seen, but also quotations closely related to them. The panels of the exhibition can be seen on the fence of the Museum Garden until 22 January 2022.

HAA's delegation in Lower Austria

The unique and large-scale fine art exhibition of HAA – which first opened on 5 July 2019 with the title Verstrichene Zeit – Elapsing Time in the Museum of Modern Arts in Passau (Museum Moderner Kunst), then travelled around Europe (Stuttgart, Berlin, Rome, Strasbourg, Budapest) and finally went to Weitra, Lower Austria in May, but the final ceremony took place on 27 October with the participation of HAA's delegation lead by President of HAA, György Vashegyi, who had held discussions with several Austrian cultural officials in Krems.

New Artists of the Nation

In 2021 six artists won the Artist of the Nation Award, the most prestigious art recognition in Hungary, which the outstanding personalities received in the centre of HAA, the Vigadó, together with last year's winners. The Artist of the Nation Award Committee has given the award to painter János Aknay, film director Ferenc András, graphic artist and painter Dóra Maurer, actor Gábor Reviczky, conductor and composer Ferenc Sapszon as well as singer Mária Zádori. Miklós Kásler, Minister of Human Resources emphasized at the awards ceremony: Hungarian cul ture is nourished from several roots and that gives it its diversity.

Vice-President Miklós Marosi passed away

Miklós Marosi, a Széchenyi Award winning architect passed away in the 79th year of his life. He was an outstanding figure of Hungarian public building design, a key personality in Hungarian architectural public life as well as the Vice-President of HAA.
