Quasimodo poetry competition announced
Hungarian poets could apply for the 25th jubilee Quasimodo Poetry Competition with two unpublished poems until 31 March. Katalin Mezey, poet, writer, chair of the Section of Literature of MMA and president of the board of the Quasimodo Foundation said that the jury was going to make the decision in July and the award-giving ceremony was going to take place at the International Meeting of Poets in Balatonfüred on 9 September.
37th Budapest Spring Festival

Young talents on the stage of MMA
Cooperating with the Career Office of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music the Section of Music of MMA has undertook the task of organizing performances of the most talented musical students on the Sinkovits Chameber Stage of the Vigadó, centre of MMA. The program series began with the concert of Mihály Demeniv (accordion) on 6 March. The next concert is going to be that of Eszter Karasszon (cello) and Mira Farkas (harp) on 10 April. The concerts are admission free, but registration is needed.
Mecal Film Festival in Barcelona with Hungary and MMA
Between 14 March and 2 April the Mecal Film Festival in Barcelona is taking place, the international festival of short and animation films, where the guest country is Hungary this time during the three week period when about five thousand short and animation films can be seen. The Spanish and Catalan audience can get to know Hungarian animation through a roll-up exhibition organized by MMA and entitled "Hungarian Animation 100" and through the lectures of Orosz István, Líviusz Gyulai, Béla Ternovszky, Ferenc Rofusz and Ferenc Varsányi.
