2014 is a special year in Hungarian architecture. This year is the bicentenary of the birth of Miklós Ybl, one of Europe's leading architects in the mid to late 19th century as well as Hungary's most influential architect during his career. His most well-known works include the Hungarian State Opera House (1884) and St. Stephen's Basilica (1905). Also 2014 is the year of Hungarian Architecture Series.
