Theatrical play about Hungarian Jeanne d'Arc in Warsaw and Budapest
The Hungarian National Theatre is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Revolution of 1956 with a play about Ilona Tóth, a hero and martyr of 1956 written by Hungarian writer, Andor Szilágyi.
Concert in Tarnów commemorating 1956
On the 60th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 a large-scale concert by Orfeo Orchestra led by György Vashegyi, a corresponding member of MMA took place at Centrum Sztuki Mościce in Tarnów on 19 October. The concert, which was also supported by MMA, was part of the Hungarian cultural season in Poland. The soloist was outstanding fortepiano singer, Petra Somlai.
Hungarian fine art exhibition in Munich
A large-scale selection from the works of Hungarian fine artists has been saw in Künstlerhaus in Munich with the title, Vollendete Zukunft/Futur II. Almost one hundred pieces of various genres were on display from paintings and sculptures to video installations.
Emptiness - exhibition of Sándor Molnár
"Man's only task is to eliminate himself, the road and the goal. There is no form of life, no road, no purpose", claims the 80-year-old Hungarian painter Sándor Molnár, whose selection of his works of the past ten years can be seen in Vigadó Gallery between 4 November and 8 January 2017. The display is featuring his works from his air and emptiness (also called death) paintings belonging to his so called "white series".
