Hungarian applied art in Israel

As part of the Hungarian Cultural Year in Israel in 2019 a large-scale exhibition of Hungarian applied art opened on 10 October in Tel Aviv. At the launching ceremony György Vashegyi, the President of HAA delivered an opening speech. The applied and design art exhibition of HAA is entitled The Art of Everyday Life, and is aiming to present the contemporary face of many genres of these art fields.

Personal Space - exhibition in Istambul

A large-scale fine art exhibition entitled Personal Space opened on 14 September 2017 at the Hungarian Cultural Centre in Istambul organized by the Section of Fine Art of MMA as a joint event of the International Istanbul Biennial. The display is giving a comprehensive picture of the works of outstanding Hungarian fine artists living at home and beyond the border in neighbouring countries. The display can be seen until 12 November 2017.

Fábri Studios in the Film Factory

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Hungarian Film Factory (Mafilm) a celebration took place and from then on studios 3 and 4 would be bearing the name of famous Hungarian director Zoltán Fábri (1917-1994). At these studios the Hungarian National Film Fund and MMA placed a memorial plaque in honour of the great film director, born also a hundred years ago, and who is a posthumous honorary member of MMA. Acclaimed Hungarian film personalities attending the celebration also commemorated on the recently deceased famous director, Károly Makk.

Sebastião Salgado: Genesis

Genesis is the third long-term series on global issues by world-renowned photographer Sebastião Salgado (born Brazil, 1944), following Workers (1993) and Migrations (2000). The result of an eight-year worldwide survey, the exhibition draws together more than 200 spectacular black and white photographs of wildlife, landscapes, seascapes, and indigenous peoples—raising public awareness about the pressing issues of environment and climate change. Open from 2017. September 6. to November 12. in Műcsarnok (Kunsthalle, Budapest).

Danube Arena photo competition closed

The photo competition of the Danube Arena, main venue of the 2017 FINA World Championships ended with the judgement of the best pictures selected from 350 works of almost a hundred photographers. The competition was co-organized by MMA.
