Exhibition of HAA in Berlin

The unique and large-scale fine art exhibition of HAA – which first opened on 5 July with the title Verstrichene Zeit – Elapsing Time in the Museum of Modern Arts in Passau (Museum Moderner Kunst), then travelled to Stuttgart in October 2019 – can now be seen in Berlin in the Hungarian Cultural Institute, the Collegium Hungaricum from 12 December 2019. The exhibition was opened by the President of HAA, György Vashegyi, then the director of Collegium Hungaricum, Márta Nagy made a welcoming speech.

Birthday exhibition of visual artist Líviusz Gyulai

A large-scale, possibly the biggest exhibition of Líviusz Gyulai, Artist of the Nation and member of MMA opened on 2 November is Vigadó, centre of MMA on the occassion that the outstanding artist is going to be 80 years old this year. The title of the display is Tales Narrated by Still Images and Motion Pictures. The exhibition, whose curator is István Orosz, is showcasing most of the life work of the artist.

HuGlass 2017

The Hungarian Glass Art Society has organized its group exhibition for the third time entitled HuGlass 2017 with over 60 Hungarian and foreign artists, including MMA members with more than 100 art works. A selection was formerly visible on the Art Market, but the main exhibition opened on 18 October and can be seen in St. Stephen's Basilica until 12 November. The event is supported and partnered by MMA.

Jubilee exhibition of György Fekete

Resigning President of MMA has turned 85 and on this occasion a jubilee exhibition opened in Vigadó, the centre of MMA. After his lifework of interior design and interior planning well-known interior designer György Fekete developed an elsewhere unknown mosaic and collage design, which is based on the exploration of the internal properties and the visual presentation of various types of wood.

Orbán decorates outgoing art academy head

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán presented György Fekete, the outgoing head of the Hungarian Art Academy (MMA), with the Grand Cross Order of Merit of Hungary on Monday.
Orbán praised Fekete for his work dedicated to art and cultural policy with which he "has worked and continues to work to uphold the spirit of Hungarian culture".
