A vice-president and a member of the board were elected at the reconvened general assembly of HAA on 7 October in Vigadó, the centre of HAA. Ballet artist János Kiss was elected as vice-president, poet and historian István Kovács was elected as a new member of the board. Gábor Lajta, a painter, graphic artist and art writer, became a member of the Supervisory Board.
Three interrelated exhibitions at Műcsarnok
An exhibition of József Gaál (1960), a fine artist, arts writer and a professor at the University of Fine Arts can be seen at Műcsarnok, the institution of HAA until 11 November.
In connection with the display of József Gaál there is another exhibition (also open until 11 November) of the group called MORPH with three members: János Kalmár, Attila Mata and Tamás Szabó.
With these two displays a third one is also interrelated and can be seen until 20 January 2019. Its title is Hidden stories - the life reform movements and the arts.
Exclusive screening of Ferenc Rofusz's new animation
President of Hungary, János Áder and his wife, Anita Herczeg also attended the exclusive screening of the new film - entitled The Last Supper - by Oscar-winning Hungarian animation director, Ferenc Rofusz at the new office building of HAA in Andrássy Street on 3 October 2018. Among the participants were HAA's President, György Vashegyi, HAA's Secretary-General, Tamás Gergely Kucsera, HAA's former and honorary President, György Fekete as well as several colleagues of Ferenc Rofusz.
Exhibition of Gábor Véssey
An exhibition of paintings and sculptures by Gábor Véssey has been organized by the Fine Arts Section of HAA, is open from 2 October 2018 and can be seen until 18 November at Vigadó on the 6th floor. Gábor Véssey is a regular member of HAA and the display is intended to celebrate the 70th birthday of the artist, who was born on 9 September 1948 in Budapest. The exhibition is a selection of the painter's works from the past thirty years.
The Third Eva Marton International Singing Competition ended with Galeano Salas' overall win
From among the sixty-one competitors - selected from contestants from all over the world from four continents and 145 countries ranging from Peru to Japan, from South Africa to Finland - having participated in the vocal contest at the Liszt Academy the Mexican-American tenor, Galeano Salas collected the Grand Prix of the 3rd International Éva Marton Singing Competition on 16 September, Sunday at the gala of the competition held also at the Liszt Academy.
