HAA held a renewal assembly

On 7 September 2020 HAA held its general assembly at its headquarters in Vigadó, where the public body awards were handed over and the composition of the new presidency, which will take effect on 5 November, was decided by academicians and members of the general assembly. György Vashegyi remained the President of HAA and Marcell Jankovics was elected Honorary President.

Standing ovation for Szeged Contemporary Dance Company

At the international festival called One Dance Week in Plovdiv the performance of Carmina Burana by Szeged Contemporary Dance Company led by Tamás Juronics, an internationally acclaimed artist, choreographer and corresponding member of HAA was received with standing ovation on 29 September. The performance was also a great success in Bulgaria in 2016 on the occasion of the anniversary of the 1956 revolution.

The 40th anniversary of the Ballet Company of Győr

The Ballet Company of Győr led by János Kiss, a corresponding member of HAA is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and on this occasion a series of programs is to take place in Hungary. HAA is also taking part in the celebration and at the press conference the Secretary-General of HAA, Tamás Gergely Kucsera said that HAA published a memorial album on the 40 years of the company. The book is to be launched on 17 November in Győr as well as on 25 November at Vigadó, the centre of HAA.

A day with György Szabados

On 21 November at Vigadó, the centre of HAA several programs are devoted to the art and memory of György Szabados (1939 – 2011), who was a Hungarian jazz pianist and is sometimes regarded as the "father" or "unofficial king" of the Hungarian free jazz movement.

Exhibition of HAA in Stuttgart

The unique and large-scale fine art exhibition of HAA, which was opened on 5 July with the title Verstrichene Zeit – Elapsing Time at the Museum of Modern Arts in Passau (Museum Moderner Kunst) travelled to Stuttgart and can be seen at the Hungarian Cultural Institute from 2 October.
