Never realised buildings in Budapest

On the occasion of Budapest's 150th birthday a large-scale exhibition at Vigadó, the centre of HAA with the title "Never Realised Buildings in Budapest" is offering an intriguing perspective of what the Hungarian capital might have looked like in the period of the past 150 years if history took another course with the help of over 170 thought-provoking plans, maquettes, photos and videos. The exhibition can be visited between 16 November 2023 and 27 February 2024.

Exhibition of Péter Stefanovits in Kecskemét
On 9 February the exhibition of Munkácsy Award winner fine artist, Péter Stefanovits, a regular member of HAA opened at the Hírös Agóra Cultural Center in Kecskemét entitled Icons. Among the works of the artist, who is the chair of Section of Fine Arts of HAA visitors can see his works from earlier periods as well as his most recent works, also his classic painted panel pictures and his works made with the processes of electrography, screen printing, lithography, clorox and zinc etching to pictures and a wide variety of mixed techniques and solutions.

Textile artist Erzsébet Katona Szabó passed away

Erzsébet Katona Szabó, the Ferenczy Noémi Award winner textile artist and regular member of HAA passed away at the age of 72. HHA regards her passing as losing one of its own.

Contemporary Hungarian ceramics in Ljubljana

Further cooperation is planned
On 24 January the Liszt Institute in Ljubljana and HAA jointly organized the finissage of the exhibition entitled Common Tongue – Contemporary Hungarian ceramics in Ljubljana. At the exhibition visitors could see the contemporary ceramic works of scholarship recipients of HAA.

József Finta passed away

Architect József Finta, who has been given the Kossuth, the Ybl Miklós, the Steindl Imre and Prima Primissima awards, and who was a regular member of HAA as well as of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, passed away aged 89 on 7 January.
