Imre Benkő's subjective documentarism

The exhibition entitled True Visions in Műcsarnok (Kunsthalle), the institution of HAA is presenting six decades of art work of photographer, photojournalist and regular member of HAA, Imre Benkő through two hundred and fifty, mostly black-and-white photographs. The exhibition, curated by Zsuzsanna Tulipán, can be viewed between 23 February and 7 April.

György Fekete, honorary President of HAA passed away

Outstanding interior designer, applied artist and an Artist of the Nation as well as former and honorary President of HAA, György Fekete passed away on 15 April 2020, aged 87. HAA is mourning him with deep sorrows and regards his passing as losing one of its own.

Medium of Art II.

HAA's Research Institute of Art Theory and Methodology held a two-day conference with the title, The Medium of Art II. - Challenges at the beginning of the 21st century on 2-3 March 2020 in Vigadó, the centre of HAA. The continuation of last year's conference, which was met by great interest, focused primarily on the environment, atmosphere and society surrounding art, and examined what traces art leaves, its impact on the environment that surrounds it and how art shapes the medium of others arts.

György Harag Memorial Year

A Memorial Year of György Harag was announced and is organized by HAA. György Harag was an outstanding Hungarian director and actor from Transylvania, who died in 1985 aged 60 leaving a great legacy behind in theatrical art.

István Csukás passed away

Famous tale-writer, poet and Artist of the Nation, István Csukás passed away on 24 February 2020, aged 83. He created some of the favorite stories and animated television shows of Hungarian children, such classics as Süsü, a sárkány (Süsü, the dragon), Pom Pom meséi (Pom Pom's Stories), Mirr-Murr, a kandúr (Mirr-murr, the tom-cat), A nagy hohoho-horgász (The Great Ang-ang-ang-angler) and many more.
