Art historian Katalin Dávid celebrating her hundredth birthday

On 16 August Katalin Dávid, the Széchenyi Grand Prize winner, internationally renowned art historian, art writer and regular member of HAA became a centenarian. In her best-known works the epoch-making figure in the history of Christian culture in Hungary explored the world of Christian iconography and biblical symbols.

Commemorating Lajos Grendel in Bratislava

At the Ferenc Liszt Institute in Bratislava writer Lajos Grendel, a late member of HAA was commemorated on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of his birth and the 5th anniversary of his death. At the event, HHA's Publishing House launched the new volume of the collected short stories of Lajos Grendel. The writer's widow, Ágota Grendel, and her son, Gábor Grendel as well as the vice-president of the Slovak parliament, took part in the evening, which took place in the presence of a large audience attending the event.

Museum of Ethnography at Biennale di Venezia

At the 18th International Exhibition of Architecture, Biennale of Venezia in the Hungarian pavilion the focal point is the new building of the Museum of Ethnography in Budapest between 20 May and 26 November 2023. The building, designed by István Ferencz and Marcel Ferencz (Napur Architect Ltd.), who are both members of HAA, was completed in 2022 after being selected in an international design competition as a part of the Liget Budapest Project, one of Europe's grandest urban development programmes abundant with cultural content.

Exhibition of György Jovián in Nagyvárad

A solo temporary exhibition of the works of painter György Jovián, a regular member of HAA opened on 13 May on the second floor of the Roman Catholic Baroque Episcopal Palace in Nagyvárad (Oradea), in the Patachich Visitor Center, as part of the 31st Festum Varadinum. The exhibition, which can be seen until September, was organized by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Nagyvárad, in partnership with the Consulate General of Hungary in Kolozsvár (Cluj-Napoca) and with the support of the HAA.

Csaba Bereczky's exhibition at Balaton Museum

The lifework exhibition of Csaba Bereczky, woodcarving folk craftsman, corresponding member of HAA, Master of Folk Art is open from 21 April 2023 at Balaton Museum in Keszthely. The exhibition, which can be visited until 10 June, is featuring outdoor works and toys in addition to everyday objects and jewelry.
