Art historian Katalin Dávid celebrating her hundredth birthday

On 16 August Katalin Dávid, the Széchenyi Grand Prize winner, internationally renowned art historian, art writer and regular member of HAA became a centenarian. In her best-known works the epoch-making figure in the history of Christian culture in Hungary explored the world of Christian iconography and biblical symbols.

János Balázs received prestigious American award

At the Music International Grand Prix, an international music competition, which culminated in a Winners Concert at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center in NYC on 21 May 2022, the Audience Favorite Award went to Hungarian Pianist János Balázs, who also won first place in the Adult Piano Category.

Piano concert by Edit Klukon and Fülöp Ránki

The special Mother's Day gift of the Collegium Hungaricum in Rome was a four-handed piano concert by Fülöp Ránki, an HAA scholar and his mother, Edit Klukon, which took place on 2 May 2022 in the evening in the Falconieri Palace.

Synagogues of Hungarian communities

The unique exhibition, which is a joint project of HAA and the Hungarian Museum of Architecture and Documentation Centre for Historic Monument Protection, introduces the sacral architecture of the Hungarian Jewry by presenting individual synagogue buildings. The organizers have selected works spanning nearly a millennium in order to present the characteristics of synagogue architecture, the communities that built them and their history.

Foreign ministry, art academy sign cultural diplomacy cooperation pact

Hungary's foreign ministry on Friday said it has signed a cooperation agreement with the Hungarian Art Academy (MMA) on supporting cultural diplomacy programmes. The purpose of the long-term agreement is to formalise cooperation between the two institutions on the promotion of Hungarian art abroad.
