Art historian Katalin Dávid celebrating her hundredth birthday

On 16 August Katalin Dávid, the Széchenyi Grand Prize winner, internationally renowned art historian, art writer and regular member of HAA became a centenarian. In her best-known works the epoch-making figure in the history of Christian culture in Hungary explored the world of Christian iconography and biblical symbols.

The autonomy of higher education in the system of cultural rights

THE ENGLISH EDITION OF MIKLÓS KOCSIS'S BOOK HAS BEEN PUBLISHED
The book entitled Higher Education Autonomy in the System of Cultural Rights – a Hungarian Perspective by Miklós Kocsis, the late director of HAA's Research Institute of Art Theory and Methodology has been published. The publication explores the modern interpretation of the concept of higher education autonomy.

Two unique exhibitions in Zalaegerszeg

The renovated Göcsej Museum in Zalaegerszeg started the 2022 spring period with four permanent exhibitions, including an exhibition featuring the works of György Fekete, a native of the town, an interior designer, the late president of HAA, a late Artist of the Nation as well as an exhibition of ceramic artist János Németh, a regular member of HAA.

Vigadó Point and Vigadó Club membership are also available to visitors

As part of a long-planned development a new visitor center named Vigadó Point has been located in the historic building that serves as the seat of the Hungarian Academy of Arts in Vigado. The new visitor center opening from the lobby and created to serve the touristic and artistic interest in the building is not only the starting point for the Building History walks led by trained professionals, but also takes an active role in organizing the public and providing information related to the programs of Vigadó.

Fence exhibition of Áron Tamási

An exhibition entitled Áron Tamási 125 opened on the fences of the office building of HAA in Andrássy Street on 25 July. A series of tableaus showing the life work of the famous Transylvanian writer, Áron Tamási who was born 125 years ago can be seen until October.
