Imre Benkő's subjective documentarism

The exhibition entitled True Visions in Műcsarnok (Kunsthalle), the institution of HAA is presenting six decades of art work of photographer, photojournalist and regular member of HAA, Imre Benkő through two hundred and fifty, mostly black-and-white photographs. The exhibition, curated by Zsuzsanna Tulipán, can be viewed between 23 February and 7 April.

Artist of the Nation Awards bestowed

Lajos Koltai cinematographer, Károly Mécs actor, Ferenc Bán architect, Márton Kalász poet, and Imre Varga sculptor received the Artist of the Nation award this year.  The awards were handed over by Zoltán Balog, Minister of Human Capacities and György Fekete, president of MMA in Pesti Vigadó on 3 November.

International poster festival in Budapest

More than 350 posters made by Hungarian and foreign artists can be seen at the Lágymányos Campus of ELTE (Eötvös Loránd University) from 4 until 25 November. The theme of the exhibition is the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, since this year is the 60th anniversary of the uprising.

The First Golden Age – 120th anniversary of Műcsarnok

The institution of MMA, Műcsarnok (Kunsthalle) in Budapest is celebrating the 120th anniversary of its opening this year. The establishment of Műcsarnok coincided with the flourishing of the Monarchy and Hungary. The exhibition entitled The First Golden Age is presenting a selection of masterpieces from the period. The display supported by MMA.

Remembrance of 1956

An exhibition displaying artworks in commemoration of the Revolution of 1956 created by those regular members, corresponding members and non-academic members of MMA who specialize on the visual fields of art opened on 19 October and can be seen until 8 January 2017 in the exhibition spaces of the 6th floor of Vigadó.
