Imre Benkő's subjective documentarism

The exhibition entitled True Visions in Műcsarnok (Kunsthalle), the institution of HAA is presenting six decades of art work of photographer, photojournalist and regular member of HAA, Imre Benkő through two hundred and fifty, mostly black-and-white photographs. The exhibition, curated by Zsuzsanna Tulipán, can be viewed between 23 February and 7 April.

Helmuth Rilling received his certificate of HAA

At the second general assembly of HAA in 2018 held on 22 November German choral conductor, Helmuth Rilling was chosen to be a honorary member of the academy. On 20 December the President of HAA, György Vashegyi personally handed over the certificate of his honorary membership of HAA to Helmuth Rilling at a solemn event in Schwäbisch Gmünd near Stuttgart.

Writer Lajos Grendel passed away

One of the outstanding contemporary Hungarian writers having lived in Slovakia and a regular member of HAA, Lajos Grendel died aged 70.
Lajos Grendel died on 18 December 2018 in Bratislava. His funeral took place on 27 December 2018 according to Roman Catholic liturgy in Bratislava. HAA as well as the Hungarian Ministry of Human Capacities regard his death as losing one of their own.

Charity Concert of Andrea Rost

World-famous lyric soprano and corresponding member of HAA, Andrea Rost gave a charity gala concert on 19 December 2018 at Vigadó, the artistic centre of HAA. The Kossuth State Award winning artist and the Goodwill Ambassador of Pető Institute together with her Art Foundation wished to promote the Institute's development of a music room, while also marking the occasion as the closing event of the Year of Talent.

Film director Ferenc Kósa passed away

Outstanding Hungarian film director and photographer, Ferenc Kósa, a regular member of HAA died at the age of 81 on 12 December 2018. HHA regards his death as losing one of its own.
