MMA held its general assembly
On 25 May 2017 MMA held its first general assembly this year, at which regular and corresponding members were elected as well as MMA's awards were decided. The general assembly was welcomed by Secretary of State for Culture, Péter Hoppál.
Mexico in Vigadó Gallery
A special exhibition of Pál Kepenyes, a Hungarian sculptor living in Mexico for half a century has been opened in Vigadó Gallery, in the building of the centre of MMA. Visitors can see explosive, thought-provoking and enthralling works of art of a great master. The works of Kepenyes are sought-after in the whole world and can be found in town squares, in collections, his jewels are admired by celebrities. The display entitled Chaos has been realized in a cooperation between MMA and the Ministry of Human Resources.
Varaždin Baroque Evenings with Hungary
The Varaždin Baroque Evenings is the most prominent music event of central Croatia and it was founded in 1971. This year it is going to be between 22 September and 5 October and the quest country is Hungary. Among the Hungarian performers are the Purcell Choir and Orfeo Orchestra with conductor György Vashegyi, Xaver Varnus and Balázs Barnkopf, the Pannon Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra, István Kónya lute player and Baroque Orchestra Savaria with artistic leader, Pál Németh.
Two-day conference on applied art and design in Kunsthalle
MMA's Research Institute of Art Theory and Methodology (MMKI) organized a conference on applied art and design entitled Concepts and Connections in Műcsarnok (Kunsthalle), the institution of MMA on the 4th and 5th of May on the occassion that the exhibition of the National Salon series is displaying Hungarian applied art and design on a large scale.
