Budapest Monteverdi Choir in France

The Budapest Monteverdi Choir led by MMA member Éva Kollár has been invited to the famous Choralies, which is a French choral festival that takes place every three years in the Provencal town of Vaison-la-Romaine.
Besides giving concerts the well-known Hungarian choir is going to have the task of presenting and teaching the most beautiful pieces of famous Hungarian choral music on the first ten days of August. At the festival in the European Choral City, where over four thousand singers and instrumentalists from all over the world come together, the colourful pieces of choral music are going to be performed in more than forty workshops, and this year organizers have highlighted the Hungarian choral pieces.

Leader of the Hungarian workshop is Éva Kollár, founder and conductor of the Budapest Monteverdi Choir, head of the Faculty of Music Teaching and Choral Conducting at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. The chorus is going to give concerts in the amphitheatre in Vaison-la-Romaine as well as in several other cities in North-Provence. At the end of the tour, the chorus is going to sing in the Dome of Salzburg in the ten-hour Sunday mass on 11 August.
