Exhibition of Imre Makovecz in Nizhny Novgorod
In Nizhny Novgorod the Hungarian Days are always held every year since 2012 with the cooperation of honorary consul, Elada Nagornaya and the Hungarian Institute in Moscow. On this occasion the life work of the leading figure of organic architecture, Imre Makovecz, founding eternal president of MMA is presented between 8 June and 2 July.
Anna Jókai passed away
One of the greatest writers of contemporary Hungarian literature, Anna Jókai passed away at the age of 84 after a serious illness on 5 June 2017, on Whitmonday. She was an Artist of the Nation and a regular member of MMA. MMA regards her death as losing one of its own.
MMA held its general assembly
On 25 May 2017 MMA held its first general assembly this year, at which regular and corresponding members were elected as well as MMA's awards were decided. The general assembly was welcomed by Secretary of State for Culture, Péter Hoppál.
Mexico in Vigadó Gallery
A special exhibition of Pál Kepenyes, a Hungarian sculptor living in Mexico for half a century has been opened in Vigadó Gallery, in the building of the centre of MMA. Visitors can see explosive, thought-provoking and enthralling works of art of a great master. The works of Kepenyes are sought-after in the whole world and can be found in town squares, in collections, his jewels are admired by celebrities. The display entitled Chaos has been realized in a cooperation between MMA and the Ministry of Human Resources.
