The Hungarian Academy of Art is presenting itself with a grand-scale exhibition in Beijing at the Today Art Museum. The display, which consists of works of fine, applied, design and folk arts is lasting from 14 May until 10 June 2018. A year ago we received the painting and calligraphy exhibition of our brother institution, the Chinese National Academy of (CNAA) at Vigadó, the centre of HAA. Fulfilling the invitation of the Chinese partner, the Hungarian art scene can be seen in the well-known contemporary exhibition venure of the capital, and the exhibition of HAA is a selection of major works of recent years.
President of HAA acclaimed in France
The productive collaboration between the Purcell Choir & Orfeo Orchestra both led by conductor György Vashegyi, President of HAA and the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles began in 2011. Their latest album - Un Opéra pour trois rois - was born from this work. The December edition of Opéra Magazine in Paris honoured the album: György Vashegyi and his groups and three singers - soprano Chantal Santon-Jeffery, soprano, Emőke Baráth, baritone Thomas Dolié - won the Diamant de l'Opéra grand award of the prestigious periodical for the second time (for the first time in 2015).
Results announced at the "SZÉKESFEHÉRVÁR HISTORY CENTER 2017" competition
The results of the architectural competition entitled "Székesfehérvár's Historical Center 2017" organized by HAA were announced on the day of Hungarian culture at the Székesfehérvár Town Hall, where Mayor of Székesfehérvér, András Cser-Palkovics as well as Széchenyi and Ybl Award winning architect, Miklós Marosi, Vice-President of HAA greeted those present.
Hungarian record is among the best ten Vivaldi recordings of all time
What would be more of a proof of the need for old-fashioned soul-cleansing music today than the fact that the French classic music magazine Diapason chose from the performances of Vivaldi's music the best 10 recordings of all time? The prestigious magazine selects an author or theme each year and ranks the published footage. This is how the "best 10 of Vivaldi recordings of all time" became to include the 1990 Juditha Triumphans album released by Hungaroton. On this album Mária Zádori, member of HAA sings.
Ceramic Art of Hódmezővásárhely
A special exhibition of the ceramic art of Hódmezővásárhely can be seen at Vigadó, the centre of HAA until 18 March. The curator is ceramic artist Zsuzsa Pannonhalmi. According to the website of Vigadó: "Hódmezővásárhely Ceramics Symposium was established in 1998 at the initiative of the Hungarian town of Hódmezővásárhely.
