Lifework exhibition of István Vidák

Folk artist and member of MMA, István Vidák, who is going to be 70 years old in September, is having a lifework exhibition at Vigadó. The exhibition entitled Travelling in Noah's Ark and organized by MMA's Section of Folk Art expresses the very nature of his work, since he has handed down traditions to the next generations as well as renewed and revived such traditions. His lifework is based on three pillars: research, creation and inheritance.

The Bible of Lajos Szalay

In the Centre for Modern and Contemporary Arts (MODEM) in Debrecen an exhibition of Lajos Szalay, one of the greatest graphic artists of the 20th century and posthumous honorary member of MMA has opened displaying his biblical works entitled Reformation 500 - The Bible of Lajos Szalay. Open to 19 February 2017.

Strasbourg – Commemoration of 1956 and Film Days

Between 22 and 25 November a commemorating exhibition of the artists of MMA took place in the building of the Council of Europe and organized by the Hungarian Permanent Representation. In addition to that there were film screenings co-organized by the Hungarian National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH).

Exhibition of Dóra Keresztes and István Orosz

Three decades ago in 1985 Vigadó Gallery organised the first joint exhibition of works by then fresh graduates from the Hungarian College of Fine Arts, graphic artist couple Dóra Keresztes and István Orosz. The current exhibition in Vigadó Gallery can be seen until 22 January.

Artist of the Nation Awards bestowed

Lajos Koltai cinematographer, Károly Mécs actor, Ferenc Bán architect, Márton Kalász poet, and Imre Varga sculptor received the Artist of the Nation award this year.  The awards were handed over by Zoltán Balog, Minister of Human Capacities and György Fekete, president of MMA in Pesti Vigadó on 3 November.
