Imre Benkő's subjective documentarism

The exhibition entitled True Visions in Műcsarnok (Kunsthalle), the institution of HAA is presenting six decades of art work of photographer, photojournalist and regular member of HAA, Imre Benkő through two hundred and fifty, mostly black-and-white photographs. The exhibition, curated by Zsuzsanna Tulipán, can be viewed between 23 February and 7 April.

The statue of Zsuzsanna Erdélyi unveiled

From 25 May the statue of Zsuzsanna Erdélyi, late folk art researcher can be seen at a symbolic place in Városliget (City Park) in Budapest: on the shady, wooded promenade between the Museum of Ethnography and the House of Hungarian Music. The late member of HAA made a lasting legacy with his outstanding work in both fields: domestic ethnography and the search for the musical traditions of the Carpathian Basin.

Vigadó awarded again

For the fifth time in a row Vigadó, the centre of HAA has been given the prestigous the Best of Budapest Award in the category of "Best Conference and Event Locations" by the professional circles and the general public.

Memorial wall of Marcell Jankovics

Marcell Jankovics held the position of president of the National Cultural Fund (NKA) twice: between 1998 and 2002 as well as between 2010 and 2011. As the second anniversary of his death approaches, NKA, which is 30 years old this year, commemorated the work of the Artist of the Nation with a more than two stories high mural of the animated film hero Fehérlófia (Son of the White Mare) created by him. At the opening ceremony, HAA was presented by Secretary General Gábor Richly, who greeted Éva Rubovszky, Marcell Jankovics' widow on behalf of the public body.

HAA held its general assembly

HAA held its first general assembly this year at Vigadó, the centre of the constitutional public body on 24 May. The public body expanded with a record number of seventy new members.
Judit Juhász was the hostess of the event. The members of the general assembly were first greeted by György Vashegyi, President of HAA, and then by János Csák, Minister of Culture and Innovation.
